The idiot I linked to in the article doesn't seem to understand that simple fact. I also have absolutely zero sympathy for anyone who considers $2.99 a high price to pay for a brilliant revision of a brilliant app they clearly use all the time. After an initial download and trial period, the more times you start an app the more you pay - in smaller increments up to a pre-set maximum. That would give a better revenue stream to the developer.
