I'm still playing the previous version of the game on my iPhone, but the new web version is awful. People's scores have jumped anything up to 250,000 due to the new version, which has to be down to the cheats. The game's somewhat random anyway, but the change breaks the competitive element. What I find the biggest shame is that they didn't fix the one seriously broken element, which is the game never clearing the board. (It's programmed so there's always at least one accessible set of three jewels to clear, but that often results in games where you keep clearing one set from the very top row and can't do anything more.)

I've been addicted to Bejeweled Blitz since I first started playing it on Facebook, mainly because of the added challenge of seeing and beating your friends' high scores. Will these changes to the game make me give it up? Time will tell, but I feel like starting one of those lame Facebook protest groups...
